Dr. Vicki Norton is a partner in the San Diego office of Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati where she focuses on biotechnology and IP strategy. Vicki specializes in biotechnology patent law and has advised clients on worldwide patent strategy, including auditing research activities and technology portfolios, identifying patent coverage issues, and formulating strategic objectives for prosecution. She has prepared, drafted, and supervised the prosecution of patent applications in an array of biotechnology fields including molecular biology, immunology, microbiology, biochemistry, combinatorial chemistry, probe amplification assays, therapeutic drugs and devices for physical therapy. Vicki is also experienced in auditing technology portfolios to assist clients in transactions and venture opportunities.

Kent M. Walker is the Partner in Charge of Cooley Godward's San Diego Trademark, Advertising & Copyright practice group, a partner in the Intellectual Property Litigation practice group, and a member of the Cooley Godward Litigation department. Mr. Walker joined the Cooley Godward in 1997 and is resident in the San Diego office. Mr. Walker's practice focuses on intellectual property litigation with an emphasis in patent infringement disputes serving communications, computer, manufacturing and biological science industries. His practice also includes other intellectual property disputes, including unfair competition, trade secret, trademark and copyright infringement, and unfair trade practices, as well as general commercial litigation.

Mr. Coverstone's practice focuses on intellectual property counseling, prosecution and litigation. He works with clients to develop strategic approaches for identifying and procuring intellectual property rights as well as handling the intellectual property rights of competitors and potential competitors. Mr. Coverstone has experience in drafting and prosecuting United States and international patent applications, developing strategic IP portfolios, preparing noninfringement and invalidity opinions and preparing licensing agreements. He is the head of the Electronics & Software Practice Group for the Townsend and Townsend and Crew's San Diego office. Mr. Coverstone is experienced in working with clients to educate business and technical personnel about the significance of intellectual property and how it directly relates to the value of a client's business. His expertise also includes electrical, computer hardware and software, electro-mechanical, biomedical and mechanical technologies.
