Patent Counsel
Job
Summary:
Prepare and prosecute patent applications before USPTO which
includes managing outside counsel to prepare patent applications. Support
Disclosure Review Panels responsible for making decisions such as
prioritizing patent applications under preparation. Propose and implement
procedures for discovering inventions that may support valuable patents,
including organizing and facilitating meetings with inventors,
coordinating efforts of patent committees, and proposing and facilitating
inventor-training activities.
Requirements:
Advanced degree in
physics. Background in magnetic recording preferred. Registered as a
Patent Attorney or Agent with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.
Membership in the California Bar desirable. At least 2 years of experience
in preparing and prosecuting patent applications. Ability to work well in
a team environment, attention to detail, excellent oral and written
communication skills, working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Outlook,
Access, PowerPoint and Excel.
