SDIPLA Committee
SDIPLA has created the Amicus, Editorial, Events and Awards, Mentoring, and Sponsorship committees to improve its services and allow greater participation in the organization's administration.  The response has been very good so far, and the current committee membership is reproduced below. The Board encourages all members with an interest in serving on a committee to volunteer. Please contact the Secretary if you are interested in serving on any of these committees.

AMICUS COMMITTEE - Drafts SDIPLA Amicus briefs for approval and submission by the Board in intellectual property cases of interest to the membership.

EDITORIAL COMMITTEE
- Assists the Board in compiling, communicating and distributing SDIPLA's newsletter, event announcements, webpages and solicits IP articles and commentary.  We are looking for IP articles for inclusion in the monthly SDIPLA Newsletter.

EVENTS AND AWARDS COMMITTEE
- Proposes to the Board and organizes social events (not MCLE-qualified seminars), such as the annual holiday party, golf tournament, and mixers with other professional organizations. Also seeks and recognizes professionals, firms or companies making a significant contribution to the San Diego intellectual property community.

MENTORING COMMITTEE
- Orchestrates the SDIPLA Mentoring Program to provide participating law students from the San Diego community (Proteges) with a window on the intellectual property law profession and an informal setting in which to obtain insights from experienced SDIPLA members (Mentors) to help prepare the Proteges for their legal careers.

SPONSORSHIP COMMITTEE
- Assists the Board in administering sponsorship of SDIPLA meetings and events by individuals, firms and companies having a strong interest in intellectual property. Implements guidelines allocating fair and impartial sponsorship opportunities.
